Frequently Asked Questions about Interior Painting
What is included in an interior paint job?
All materials and labour is included in all Pro Coat painting jobs. This includes paint, tape, masking, high-end Purdy brushes, roller sleeves as well as sprayer usage etc. The labour includes moving furniture and other items into the middle of rooms or out of the way where they can be covered and sealed from any overspray or drips.
How much interior paint do I need for a 1000 square foot house?
The square footage of the home is not the determining factor. The square footage of the walls, ceilings, trim and moulding will affect the quantity of paint needed. You can estimate about 1 gallon per 300-400 sq ft of wall area. How many coats are needed, will also affect the quantity needed.
Do you paint the ceiling or walls first?
It is almost always easier to paint the ceilings before the walls. Painters achieve a substantially cleaner outcome when cutting the wall into the ceiling.
How long does interior painting take?
Typical full-interior projects average around 4-7 business days but can take up to two weeks. All projects are independent of each other and require different levels of preparation.
How often should I have the interior of my home painted?
Every 3-6 years depending on foot traffic in these areas . After that time period, the cost of repainting spikes tremendously due to the increase in prep work required to achieve a high quality finish.
How many coats of interior paint do I need?
2-3 coats of high-quality latex based paint for walls depending on the severity of the colour change. High-coverage primers can be used to cover blemishes on walls prior to basecoat/topcoat.
